HOG-Spot.com exists to help share and explore Southern Nevada and it's surrounding areas. What started as a motorcycle ride with a few friends has steadily grown to include family members and other passionate riders that we have met in our travels.

HOW DO I START?

The Nevada desert and it's surrounding areas can be a harsh enviroment all year round. We face weather extremes from severe heat and cold to tornado like wind and dust storms. A properly maintained motorcycle is the first and most critical step to a great ride. No one wants to spend hours on the side of a road trying to fix a broken part or waiting for a tow vehicle. Check your owners manual for it's maintenance schedule.

Though most of our trips are single day rides, there are still precautions that are special to our area. The below items is by no means a compelte list but they are the most commonly ignored.

• Drink water frequently to keep you from getting dehydrated. If your pee is yellow, it's too late, your body is already in the process of being dehydrated. Drink water at every stop even if you feel that you don't need to.

• Bring sunscreen and lip balm. Even if you are wearing a long sleeve shirt you can still get sun burned through it. Most fabrics do not offer good UV Protection. Also because of riding positions, the back of your neck is frequently exposed directly to the sun.
